Tell him you want him. Tell him what’s on your mind. Don’t hold it back. Speak your gut out. You’ll regret all the unspoken words. Tell him you can’t fiy him cause he’s not even broken. That you can’t help him, cause it needs to come from the inside.
Stand by his side and hold his hand, let him cry on your shoulder if he needs to. Let him get it all out of his chest. Promise him you’ll carry his secrets to the grave. Give him a space to navigate through each thought without any judgement.
Tell him you want him but you can’t have him and you know it and it’s ok and it doesn’t hurt. Because all your precious things are free in the world. You hold onto nothing, show him how. You’re afraid and scared and doubtful but you embrace it. Explain him why. You have fire in your heart and a river in your soul. Teach him how to light the flame and let the stream in.
Give him all you can then leave and take nothing.
I dare you!
But if for some reason, you want to get rid of him. Tell him your past. Open the coffin. But tell him the whole truth, not the one you tell everyone. The real reason why you left. He’ll freak out and flee. Believe me, there is only a certain amount of craziness people can take, and you dear, you’re way beyond that.
If even after telling him all the crap you did he still wants to stay around, then “oh shit honey” you’re in big trouble. Because you know, just between you and me here, he might just be the one.
The one who will drag you down. Who will leave you shattered on the floor, torn and bruised, feeling awful like one of those Taylor Swift songs you never really understood.
But don’t you worry, I’m pretty sure you’ll be gone way before that. This will all be a happy memory and a funny story.
